Osamu Tezuka (1928-1989) was one of the greatest artists in the history of mankind. He created over 700 titles of manga and is the most renowned comics artist in Japan. Here are presented his most innovative and remarkable panels, each one a masterpiece in its own right.

Ode to the humiliation

Meet sister Helen. She’s a nun from Christian monastery in South Africa. She contracted a disease which nature and origins are unknown - Monmow disease. It does not only make you look like a dog, but eventually kills you.

Sister Helen was invited to Japan by dr. Tatsugaura, director of unnamed big city hospital. He intends to become the chairman of Japan Medical Association. Tatsugaura is going to research the disease and publish the results in order to get some glory and publicity.

On the panel above we see sister Helen being exposed to Japanese doctors. She reluctantly obeys when dr. Tatsugaura orders her to take off her clothes…
